Every artist needs feedback on their work to keep going and lighten the path. If you feel stuck, in a funk or need a little push or extra encouragement to move into or through the work you're meant to do, I work with artists in all disciplines to help find a way forward. Maybe you want to start the project of your dreams and bring it into focus or just gain clarity about what that project is and aren't sure just how to do it. Maybe you just need help to get to your finish line with motivation and accountability from someone who cares about you and your work.
My one-to-one sessions help you get to the bottom of whatever you might be looking for: accountability, support, helping you strengthen your work and portfolios, your stories, your ideas.
The perfect gift for yourself or an artist you know who needs generative feedback, nurturing and encouragement. People leave these sessions super motivated and ready to let their art lives fly.

For folks who want more specific support: Three one-hour feedback sessions + three weeks of personalized prompts + emailed feedback. When you're ready for a deep dive, this is for you. I'll help navigate with you a way in to your project and set deadlines for you to meet so you'll feel a sense of accountability. I'll be available along the way to guide and give you constructive and (best of all) generative feedback on your work and its direction. We'll begin with a live session and take it from there.

YOU'LL GET:
Questions to ponder before we get together for a thoughtful conversation about where you are and where you might want to go.
When we meet, we'll take a deeper dive into what will help you and your work or project flourish. I'll point you toward inspiration and resources specific to your interests and that can help push you along and finally I will always offer you a dose of enthusiasm when you need it the most.
Taking appointments for Feb & March 2026 dates only.
Payment via Venmo preferred for US artists. Message me for details.
For Students 25 and under I'm offering 1:1 feedback sessions on scholarship. Please inquire.
Testimonials From Past Students:
"What’s the best way to slay a serious creative wall? Join Deborah Stein and the StoryCamp Disco Community. It was really that simple for me. The whole community of artists is inspiring, supportive and caring, and I made some really interesting work that I never would have made without Deb’s challenging prompts. I guilded an acorn, I repaired a wasp nest, I remembered my love of carving and cut text into an apple. I wrote, I stretched, I grew and I returned to myself and my art practice in a new and improved way. I just hung my first one person show in years, and have another scheduled for fall of 2025. And don’t even get me started on how super charged I am about Folktale Week! I’m so grateful for all of it!"

"Deborah’s workshops and mentorship has meant the world to me and opened up my creativity and confidence in ways I couldn’t imagine. I set out to be a better storyteller and artist, and it’s done that, but I feel more in touch with the freedom of creating and making and the joy of the creative spirit. Working in close group over weeks of creating (which I’ve done twice) has allowed me to make real progress on work that has existed only in dreams and to surprise myself. The results have been bodies of work I’m proud of, but also a connectedness to myself and others that I’ve found really rewarding. To anyone thinking about this, give this gift to yourself. Commit to Deb’s structure and let her muse guide you to find your own. Don’t wait. You are ready now :)"

"I am ever grateful that I’ve had the chance to dance at the StoryCamp Disco with Deborah Stein and her wondrous troupe. I love that in these workshops, artists have found themselves to be writers and writers to be painters and for these braidings to feed each other in playful imagination. She guides with creativity and a huge breadth of resources. In StoryCamp, I have found so many new openings in my imagination - Deb’s cultivation of rivulets of thoughts and her encouraging of her artists to push ideas further and deeper...
Take a class with Deb and you’ll never look at the world quite the same again, and want to follow your ideas further than you thought they’d roll."
