"Story Of, Story And": A One Night Story Workshop, Friday March 29th

A TWO HOUR event for those with a love of story and who strive to get to know, create and strengthen their own. It’s for picture book makers, want-to-be author illustrators, the next Beatrice Alamagna, Maira Kalman or Liana Finck! Really, it’s for anyone interested in bringing one story to life with depth and meaning and whatever personal singular beautiful spark that you and only you have to offer the world...

Come with a dream you've held for a story or wait for class to begin to bring one to you..we'll spend a magical together finding the storytelling powers inside you waiting to be noticed. We'll practice ways to craft and hone ways you might tell your story and how you can bring them to life on the page with words and/or pictures..

I have planned some new magical writing and art exercises to evoke visual and written storytelling ideas and we'll explore our own personal themes-- the threads that link our creative work, our histories and values. We'll consider form and craft while we find that sneaky companion 'metaphor' and how it sneaks its way into our work-scape and curiosities in unexpected and magical ways.

You will leave the workshop with story ideas, new beginnings, visual material and form considerations to keep working into for your own personal projects. This will be wonderful pre-cursor to the Story Weekend happening April 13th & 14th or simply fun all on its own!
